We meet every Tuesday afternoon at the Liskerrett Centre in Liskeard, where we chat, drink tea, perform gentle exercises and receive talks from health professionals who explain new ideas and thinking about our conditions and give helpful hints and tips. Some of these are on our Hints and Tips page. The group has made videos of the group exercises for use outside the meeting, which are also available for anyone with similar conditions at http://www.youtube.com/user/BreathersGroup
The group received its ultimate accolade on 17th September 2013 when we received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which was presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Colonel Edward Bolitho. Details of the event can be found on the Queen's Award page.
We have also recently released a booklet of useful information for COPD sufferers and others with long term conditions, that we are distributing to surgeries and hospitals across the county. To find out more click on this Sue's Booklet link.
If you are a sufferer from COPD or another long-term condition and you live in the Liskeard area, please come and join us. You will find a friendly welcome and the company of people who understand exactly what you are going through. If you live further afield, please look at our Local Groups page to see if there is a group near you who will provide you with the same support. New groups are being started up all the time. Maybe you would like to start up your own group, in which case we can help you. Please see how to get in touch with us on our Contact Us page.
